Emotional Roller Coaster Blog Post

I just found out on the 10:00 news that Francis Cardinal George is in the hospital. He is a very smart guy, I've had the pleasure of hearing him be smart in small rooms with people, and I overall like him a lot. Yes, I know it's really un-cool to be Catholic, and there are lots of things not to be proud of right now in the Chicago Catholic Community, but I believe that FCG is a good man and so I hope he is OK.

So, in less somber news, Scratch and I watched the second half of ER tonight, waiting for the news to come on. We both realized that we didn't know who anyone was on the whole show. What happened to the chick with the crutches? And the other guy? And that chick? Oh well, out of touch.

NBC 5 News cut out 5 minutes into broadcast and switched over to MSNBC. It was truly frightening. Wow, cable news is so ridiculous.

And back to more somber news - last night we went to the wake of my dad's cousin. She was pretty much the last living member of my dad's family that I have memories of from childhood. I had no idea how emotional I would get over someone I rarely saw, or spoke to, or really knew for that matter.

Oh yeah, and on an upswing, we are buying a place to live! Yay!
