Working at Wayne Manor

The building where I work is one of the sets for the new Batman movie. They've been working on it for weeks, and I guess they filmed over the weekend. The most exciting part is that everyone talks about it. "Do you know that it's BATMAN?" What most of us see is the back of the set, wooden beams. No Maggie Gyllenhaal breastfeeding, no Christian Bale. Just some wood. But it's Bat-Wood!

In a way, this is a genius move by the filmmakers. I work in a building that has 20+floors. Instead of shooting on a soundstage, build a set inside of an office building. You are guaranteed that pretty much everyone who works in the building will go see the movie so that they can look for the part where their building shows up.

In other brushes with inconveniences-due-to-famous-stuff, we went to Pittsburgh this weekend to visit Scratch's family. We arrived on the afternoon of some big concert by Kenny Chesney. I know who that is because I watched the 60 Minutes with him to see if he was going to come out. Instead I learned that he is some sort of country music Jimmy Buffett. All of his fans were clogging up the roadways into the 'Burgh. We were very angry at the time! As angry as Renee Zellweger when she filed divorce papers with "fraud" as the reason? Maybe. Maybe not.

Hopefully my commute to work this morning will be without celebrity incident!
